520 Full Moons

Last night the moon was full
The people excited
The Sky still
The waves quiet and light
Some people wait all month for this night
Drumming and dancing by firelight
Cheers and screams
Young and old delight
But as for this moon
It was a bit more special
Not only for the Lord to bless you
Not only to see the midnight blue
Not only to receive the divine hue
But to mark the end of a chapter
And the start of one all a new
Somethings have changed in time
But plenty remains the same
Still in love with that name
Still love that game
Still in love the seasons change
On this moon there is one thing
That I do hope no longer remains
And that is that people still can’t see each other as same
Still hate
Still discriminate
Still hold back love
Even when the sun reflects bright off the moon above
Every month we can remind
It is time to start a new time
Rewind
Back to when we were all family
When we all lived in the shade of the tree
Got together each week
Loved, and enjoyed each others company
Knew there was plenty
Knew the Lord loved us all infinitely
There was no fear of death
Because we had all learned of our immortality

I watched the moon last night
Down the beach from where you live
Wished you could of been there too
But the more I thought
I knew
You were there
Not likely physically
But I saw your spirit in plenty
How Baby, can I not love you infinitely
When this is what you taught me
Love lasts for all time
Whether or not I spent all my dimes
Wrote only in rhyme
Within everyone is a shrine
And this is where you and I combine
Our next chance to touch in 3D
For that I can wait
We’ve done it before, don’t mistake
But you are not commonplace
Definitely from outer space
No need to complicate
Each month we celebrate and rewind
Our father moon is the one who controls time
Counts your age
Makes you a sage
Says “this chapter is over, start a new page”
