NYC

NYC
City of dreams
City of life
City of litter in the streets
8 million people you never meet
Just pass by day after day
Don’t notice that face was
The actor in last night’s play
Here in the city
All the girls look pretty
All the boys busy
Shirts and ties of all varieties
The upper crust
High society
A chance to chase dreams
Wonderland
Please come try me
Along the way dreams are dashed
Tapped out
Fresh out of cash
What to do now?
Never learned that in class
Guess it is time to go through the trash
In the city
There are those with some
And those with many
The ladder is clear
Where you stand
Determined by what device is in your hand
Or what it says in your business plan
Whether or not your diploma reads
Horace Mann
So much life in the city
But without you it feels empty
Lifeless metal and concrete
Everything feels incomplete
And nothing unique
All the same
Dull, boring and plain
The city can drive you insane
Too much noise
Too much grit
And too much grime
It is good to only stay a set time
Spend some dimes
Hear some chimes
Explore your senses
And your mind
Enjoy the city
NYC
No place like it
Even in all of infinity
So take a trip and come see
A place for you and me
And everybody
The city that never sleeps
One beautiful
And unique
