Last Dance

Do you want to dance?
You should
Because this is your last chance
Before the lights come on
And the bartender declares
The drinks are all gone
And it is time for you all to go
So long
If you did not come here to dance
Why did you come?
Did you not want to have fun?
Maybe meet someone?
But if so
Why are you standing all alone?
Why even leave your home?
How come you came in the first place?
Could of stayed home and gone to outer space
Watched some fake news
A whack ass police chase
But you got dressed
And did up your face
Dressed up in your best
Probably should of word that argyle sweater vest
But you still look good
Best of all you left your hood
Drove out of the wood
Made it to this place
But you are over there and no one sees your face
So come over here and dance with me
Cause I don’t need to see your face to know
That in you a fire glows
So please let it grow
Show yourself to me
So then the world will know
You can be free
Because they all will be looking at me
You get to be the one who can see
The world as you want it to be
Now you’re all dressed up and pretty
On the outside
Downtown in the city
I’m the only one right now
Who can see inside
See your infinity
Know you’re a lot more than pretty
I also see you might not be ready
So just hold on
I’ll keep you steady
I’ll keep you warm
To protect you I have sworn
To no one other than the Lord
So it’s all good
Go ahead and dance
I am the only one who will take a glance
