Even though you arrived home
It seemed lonely
And similar to the road
This is not the place you know as home
But this is where you stay

At least for a little while
Home is not just the place you are from
Where your parents live
Or where you are called a grandson
Home is also a feeling

Even though our love is brand new

Radiating in your coat of blue
I know you miss your home
And I miss mine too
Even though I am in the same place
Things seemingly out of place
Not the way I remember
Still the same colors
Each November

All the familiar names
All the streets I know
All the trees I remember did grow
So how do I not know?
Why am I not home yet?

I placed my bet
And watched the wheel spin
And where it stopped
I swore it was I who was the one to win
I guess it is cause it is still just me here

And it is crystal clear
This cannot be home without you
You make any place a home

Even this place I forever remember
Is just the place I stay now
When you get back

I will call this place home again
