Why Can't I Dream?

I know you dream
I know there are things you wish for
I know there are things you need
Maybe you want to be
Rich and famous
Glamourous and fabulous
Maybe you want to be on the screen
And a A-Lister on the scene
Fine by me
But why can’t I dream?
When these are not my dreams
When I see other things
And know other beings
What if my wants are not these
What if I like my life behind the scenes
And don’t want a life on the screen
Why can’t I dream?
Cause when I do
The sky turns the most beautiful blue
And everyone I see walking the street
Is a new friend to meet
I dream of a land where we only love
Forgot what hate was
A long time ago
Where we nurture each other and grow
Don’t need to prove what we know
Or make what we bought a show
Dream with me of this place
And the creator will make the space
Place a few stars
Leave the rest to us
And together we will make the rest
It will be the best
Our eternal nest
One that never leaves
Or decays
Because it basks forever in the Lord’s rays
We can leave this home
Travel the world
Through the Galaxy we can roam
Do anything we like
And always return to this place
To our new world gift
Our brand new space
Our peaceful home that is forever safe
When you make it home
No matter the time
Or clock
No need to knock
The door is always unlocked
