To Hither I Go

To hither I go
To hither I come
To hither I went
To hither I return
Each season
Like a migratory bird
Or a nomadic heard
From one place
To the other
Then back
And do it all over
Is it really so bad?
To not follow the fad
Or wonder where or who
When you just do what you knew
By instinct
The map you were programmed with
To travel there
To come back
To a life thought unfair
People forget
How dare!
But to what I’ve learned
Nothing can compare
To breath fresh air
To feel the warmth of a gentle stare
To being open and completely bare
To achieve
I do not really care
But with you may I share
These few words
So I can feel heard
So the travels will not feel absurd
But a journey to take
A story to tell
Around the campfire
Or the wishing well
We need but travel together
But if I see you there
Or when I come back here
I’ll know it is clear
Our paths were laid side by side
So we always see each other on this ride
