People who go to church on Wednesday
Are holy, good people, clearly
Pious
And faithful
In their quest
To seek eternal peace
Accept grace
Be one with the Lord’s eternal place
Heaven on Earth
Is what has been ordained
And for these nine lives
It came from Jesus’ name
And whether it be Wednesday or Sunday
Everyday was a blessed day
No surprise they welcomed that stranger inside
Asked him to stay and read awhile
But his intentions untrue
His mind made up
He had thought it through
Did the unthinkable
Violated the sanctuary
And destroyed nine temples
For Human life is where the Lord dwells
And these nine
Were living to serve the Divine
So another man claims the power of the Lord
Too much of a coward to use a sword
Or anything civilized
His act more than criticized
Despised
The most wicked behavior
At the church of our mother
The savior
In the court room
Hatred was what he hoped he would see
Anger, frustration
Less compassion
Just more aggression
But instead
There was forgiveness
And sadness
For both their losses
Their loved one
And him
Their poor mislead son
How do you not believe we are all not from the same one
Our souls rest eternally
At the Great Central Sun
For when Angels are assassinated
It is not a time of hell
We will see
Time will tell
But when we start with forgiveness
I would say things are going well
Again the President was asked to speak
He gave the late reverend’s eulogy
And spoke plainly
We’ve got too many guns
And confederate license plates
Too often discriminate
And we’ve got too much hate
But I forgive him
He wanted to sin
Wanted to do evil things
Further divide this country
But he was an actor in the Lord’s orchestra
And the role of devil he would not play
Show them forgiveness
This is what the Lord did say
Open your heart
That is what the President did say
There is good news on this funeral day
Although we don’t deserve it
And we’re all sinners
The Lord’s grace has been delivered
What we do with it is up to us
Open our hearts
This is a must
I forgive you brother
And I see the light in you
But just as you are blind to it in others
You are blind to it in you too
I see a brighter future
Where there are no more eulogies for someone killed by a gun
It is time to live as one
And celebrate each individual one
Peace and harmony throughout the land
Be patient
In time we will all understand
I hope we decide this is the last one
I hope that hatred can be done
Open our hearts
Give and receive love from everyone
Make this country United
The glorious phoenix Liberty risen from the ashes
We all can use more compassion
And it makes us all better
A friend who has an umbrella in bad weather
We can’t change the past
So let’s forgive
And let this tragedy be the last
Open our hearts
The New World is here
Let’s make it start
See each other for what we truly are
Brothers and sisters
From many stars
And far away places
Even though we don’t deserve it
We are all together always in God’s graces
