Darkness

In the dark
There the light is born
In darkness
We often mourn
The roses thorn
I have dwelled in shadows
And lived in the night
Been ghouls and ghosts of fright
Learned to be guided by the eyes of sight
But it was not hatred that guided me
It was Divine might
For ugliness is not the only thing that lives not in light
For it was in the shadows
It was within fear
It was a time I saw the colors come clear
I traveled to places both far and near
I heard a message we all need to hear
I learned that true radiance
Needs a black backdrop
And I do not fear what will happen when my heart does finally stop
Because at the bottom
You can see the top
Know you will reach it
And there you can sit
There with the Lord of all things
Creator of the light and the dark in all beings
There you can ask why
There you can understand why black is the color of the night sky
And every star and every galaxy
Is every color you have ever seen
I dwell in darkness
Because my light is for her
To make sure she knows bliss
Make sure she gets all she deserves
I can take your scorn
I can take your bad words
And I can take your hate
Because she is the one who sees my best parts
When we go out on a dates
And that is why I do not fear the dark
Why I wear the color black
She sees what’s underneath that
Her and I know it is pure radiance
Look close and you might catch a glance
But to possess it you have no chance
It is for her only
And it is not mine, just on loan from the one holy
So tonight again I go into the darkness
Into the blackness
Again there she will be
Always waiting for me
