That Flight

At the airport
Tearful goodbyes
And the friendly skies
Upset people
Frustrated travelers
Lots of TSA Agents
But it’s just for show
Cause bad things always get through
Even with all they make you do
Strip off your clothes
And empty your pockets too
No shoes
Now they want a naked picture of you
At least they got sweet uniforms in blue
And all wear gloves
Looks serious
It sure does
I have no care for that
Cause I just gotta get back
To the Mile High
Been six years since I sort of said goodbye
Didn’t have a ton of time
To write and recite all these rhymes
Maybe next time
Maybe my next life
It can seem right
Won’t slip off into the night
Would I of stayed?
I dunno
I might
But that choice has come and gone
We all had to move along
Get more strong
Decide on our own what is our song
But it is almost time for my flight
And I’ll lay my head down in Denver tonight

Mercury: Venus' Sweet Friend

Until next time
I guess this is goodbye
I guess we never got around to asking why
Didn’t really try
Just invented reason after reason to deny
The truth we both know
And really have known
In all this time
Our love has grown
But now we part
Again
Promise we’ll always be the best of friends
And I’ll be there when you divorce again
Blame it all on yourself
As you will
Yet
I’ll love you still
And know what I’ve always known
So few men actually want to see you
On your throne
Just rather have you on their arm
As decoration
To add to their charm
But I see all of you
Your most beautiful version
Your divinity shrouded in your humility
And we say goodbye
Because I feel guilty
For letting yourself have your own feelings
Cause when we walk together it is confusing
How we can love each other so deeply
And just stay silent
Say goodbye
Exchange gifts
And kind words
But never good morning in the end
Just good bye
My sweet friend

Full Hearts

With our hearts full
All things we can fulfill
But without
We can do nil
In spite
We do not thrive
Only the “strong” survive
Claim dominion
And the power to preside
Without love
The world we have
Is the one we deserve
Because on all occasions we fail to learn
The same lesson the Lord always provides
We mourn someone’s suicide
And ask why?
But do little to change the world in which we do reside
A world that can make those feel case aside
Worthless
And not Divine
Even though the Lord says otherwise
But self-loathing equals dollar signs
To those that love money
And are capitalists
Their greed has set their souls adrift
Separate from God
Because they are empowered from giving “jobs”
Forgetting how much suffering they cause
And how their fellow man they wrong
But
With our hearts full
With Love as our guide
In Heaven with God we can forever abide
For we do Their job
When we spread love
As in Heaven on Earth shall be done
