The Language of Love
If you asked me
What I want to do
No need to think
Cause I’ve already thought it through
It would be this
And I would create other things
Pictures, paintings
Maybe learn to play the strings
Rewrite a song to sing
Unfortunately in this life
In this world
All things have a price
It matters very little if you are nice
Hurts when you think twice
Reward is when you buy her ice
I disagree
And I am tired of trying to get others to see
The world the way I think it should be
Because when I do
They point the finger
And scream insanity
Even if you like these words
If you saw my face
And heard
You’d probably join the choir
Call me absurd
Be the first to say
I’m glad they locked that guy away
Perhaps this is a grey picture
A bleak outlook
But after all these years
And words to fill plenty of books
I seem no closer than I was before
I took some risks
And landed flat on my face
Flat on the floor
No one to pick me up
No one to lend a hand
Just finger points, jokes, and ridicule
I wish others had a clue
That I could care less what job I do
But I do know
I cannot draw many more breaths in this stale air
Each day in this world closer to death
Which is not the course of life
Not why humans descend into bodies
More like to transform into light
Harness the strength of eternal life
Do the Lord’s Work create, read, and write
Apparently these are crazy ideas
Thoughts worth dismissing
Even though we all know the material
Life keeps us missing
Keeps us wishing
For something greater
Something better
Let’s no longer talk about the weather
How about real talk
Hold my hand baby, let’s go for a walk
Tell me how you love
Tell me their names
Tell me all your happy memories
Most importantly tell me your dreams
Let’s build them together into a way more beautiful scene
Together we are an unstoppable team
So let’s leave this world behind baby
I’m so over it
They can call us crazy
But we don’t speak their language anymore
Now we speak the divine tongue
The language of love
What I want to do
No need to think
Cause I’ve already thought it through
It would be this
And I would create other things

Prison or Prism
I’ve got my heart locked up
Not in a prison
But in a prism
Why, you ask?
Well it is really quite simple
In this world there seems not enough room for love
Only one best friend
Apparently only suppose to have one woman beginning to end
This is something I can’t understand
Same with why we went to war with Afghanistan
And made illegal prisons
Went on with a global witch hunt for a religion called Islam
But I started to read the Qur’an
And I believe it says clearly that killing is ha-ram
Didn’t need to read more than a couple of pages to get that part
Why would I eva want a prison heart
When I’ve already stated I want a patchwork heart
To reignite my prism heart
And illuminate my light body
Ask God for my angel wings back
And take to the sky
Sandy let’s teach these kids to fly
When we come sailing through
Hop on by
We will take you to our castle in the sky
Remind you
You will never die
Cause the Lord has granted resurrection for everyone again
No such thing as original sin
Just a chance to learn more knowledge
I think everyone should go to college
At least read some books
Don’t just play chess with the rooks
Go to the kitchen and learn to cook
Drive out to the country and have a nice look
I suggest for now
To avoid the hospital
Cause it is more like a prison
Sadly so R our schools
But I’ve got even more good news
A.A.M. here to take away your blues
And S.G. down on their brand new skis
It’s Aquarius alright
No more fights
Only bright lights
Sit back and enjoy the flight
I’ll see you at Dawn’s first light
Not in a prison
But in a prism
Why, you ask?

Bourbon Day
Nine years ago
Almost on this same day
Took a plane home from Califron I A
Had spent the week on the beach
And in the sea
Out in the sun having fun
Family time was plenty
Of blessings I counted many
Nine years ago when we touched down
Since it was Wednesday
I went to town
It was Bourbon night
Friends all around
The night ended
With a friend and I as nature intended
In scene splendid
Swimming under a waterfall
And another one below
Above our city all aglow
But today
Most of my friends had left town
And it was my family who was around
Our flight was during the day
My bro asked: “do you want a bourbon?”
I said “of course” it’s Wednesday
Almost on this same day
Took a plane home from Califron I A
